I'll try a different port and then reinstall the drivers, if the issue persists I'll probably get another cable. It actually turns back on, only slower (complete power cycle rather than simple return from sleep) and at a normal UHD 60Hz resolution.

Most likely your problem is a dodgy cable id say. In desktop mode its easy to turn Freesync off anyway.

Have you tried using a different port on your card, could be a bad connection?įlickering is an issue with Freesync in the latest drivers, its an issue that has been a problem on and off through various driver releases over the last 12 s something you learn to live with. I have 3 AOC monitors (one freesync) connected to my fury card via display port, monitor 3 my right hand panel often has this same problem, where it just doesn't come on or comes on at a low resolution, and the error report is generated in the AMD software.Normally just flicking the power switch on and off solves it though. If anyone has any experience with displayport cables, could he/she recommend me a cable that surely hasn't a powered 20th pin and should work with my setup? Assuming that the issue is the cable, obviously. I've already done some research about it but I found no definitive answer.

As soon as I'm coming back where the PC is, I'm also going to try reinstalling or downgrading the drivers (currently using 17.12.2). The cable is 1.5m or 2m, not longer than that. As I said, I'm using the Bizlink cable included with the monitor, no issues with the GTX 670 but I thought it could be because it's older and may have some different internal behaviour. Moreover the card instantly crashes if I try to OC the memory (and won't even hit 1400 MHz with 1.1V), but this could just be bad luck (if ASIC quality even means anything, it only hits 69.9%). Maybe it's freesync related and thus a monitor issue? I've also seen some random, instantaneous flickering during normal operation (and even some artifacts on firestrike, but that could be because of undervolting) and I also have doubts about the used card, but it came practically in perfect conditions and the seller assured me he had no problems he was using a freesync display and DP, just asked. Then I've discovered the "displayport 20 pin debate" and started doubting it could be the case, but there were no issues with the older GTX 670. I should specify that I currently have no access to my main PC until the end of the holidays, so I'm just asking for advices now and then I'll proceed to test some more. The system is the one on my profile. Your display might not support the requested resolution or there may be an issue with the cable connecting the display to your computer List of supported graphics and general-purpose computing APIs, including their specific versions. The system has detected a link failure and cannot set the requested resolution and refresh rate on your DisplayPort display. This information will prove useful if you need some particular technology for your purposes. OEM manufacturers may change the number and type of output ports, while for notebook cards availability of certain video outputs ports depends on the laptop model rather than on the card itself. As a rule, data in this section is precise only for desktop reference ones (so-called Founders Edition for NVIDIA chips). Types and number of video connectors present on the reviewed GPUs. Integrated GPUs have no dedicated VRAM and use a shared part of system RAM. Parameters of VRAM installed: its type, size, bus, clock and resulting bandwidth. For notebook video cards it's notebook size, connection slot and bus, if the video card is inserted into a slot instead of being soldered to the notebook motherboard. For desktop video cards it's interface and bus (motherboard compatibility), additional power connectors (power supply compatibility). Useful when choosing a future computer configuration or upgrading an existing one. Information on GeForce 840M and Radeon R5 240 OEM compatibility with other computer components. Note that power consumption of some graphics cards can well exceed their nominal TDP, especially when overclocked. These parameters indirectly speak of performance, but for precise assessment you have to consider their benchmark and gaming test results. General performance parameters such as number of shaders, GPU core base clock and boost clock speeds, manufacturing process, texturing and calculation speed.
